Patrick Deering Scholarship, awarding $2,000 to an outstanding undergraduate pursuing a career that supports older adults and the aging journey.This scholarship honors the legacy of L. Patrick Deering, a longtime Keswick board member whose commitment to community, compassion, and care for older adults continues to inspire.
Who Should Apply?
We invite university leaders, faculty, and staff to nominate women on their campuses who demonstrate:
- Academic success in a health-related field
- Leadership in community and service efforts
- A strong commitment to improving the lives of older adults

To qualify, the nominee must:
- Be a junior or senior attending a four-year, fully accredited Maryland college or university
- Be pursuing a degree in:
- Geriatrics
- Gerontology
- Nursing
- Public Health
- Any health-related field with a focus on aging
Nomination Materials
Please submit the following:
- The candidate’s résumé
- 1–3 letters of reference that speak to:
- Academic achievement
- Leadership qualities
- Commitment to aging-related impact
Award Recognition
The scholarship recipient will receive:
- A $2,000 scholarship award
- Recognition is Keswick’s quarterly newsletter.
