Wise & Well Journey
When journalist John Leland set out on behalf of The New York Times to meet a group of adults aged 85
and up, he expected to learn of challenges, loneliness, and the deterioration of mind, body, and spirit.
What he encountered was the opposite. These adults lived with lightness and contentment, upending
contemporary notions of aging. With humility, heart, and wit, Leland has crafted a guide on how to age
well, informed by those who have mastered exactly that! The book is available through the Enoch Pratt
Free Library, the Kindle app, and most booksellers.

Falls are common in adults over 65 and about a third of older adults who live at home fall at least once per year. Mobility, balance, vision, diet, chronic disease, and other factors increase the risk of falling. An assessment is recommended yearly to determine fall risk level so that you and your healthcare provider can determine the best strategies to prevent falls and reduce your chance of injury.
